Carol Moeller was named 2020 Citizen of the Year for fulfilling her mission to support families facing childhood cancer through Carol’s Hope Thrift Store. Sales from the stores in Boiling Springs and Spartanburg help families with expenses related to scheduled cancer treatments that often require out-of-town travel. Carol’s Hope has added three $1,000 educational scholarships for cancer patients.
[Carol] humbly accepted the award from BSBA board member Tracy Regan and stressed their aim to “let families know we’re here for them.” She added: “The community has been very supportive and that’s what keeps us going.”
